BICHOLIM: Asserting that getting BJP ticket is not anyone’s right, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Sunday said that Speaker Anant Shet being a senior leader would get his right position.

Parsekar was addressing a meeting at Hirabai Zantye in Bicholim which was convened for inducting Pravin Zantye into the party fold.

“Getting party ticket is not anyone’s right and everyone will get this clear message during this electionsm,” Parsekar said adding, the “party gives ticket to those who have the capacity to win elections. However, denying ticket to a person does not mean he is incapable.”

He said that Shet would be given proper place in the party fold.

“BJP is a common man’s party and for the first time we are giving entry to a wealthy person so he should now try to raise the position of the common people from his constituency,” Parsekar stated.

After being inducted into BJP, Zantye said that his first priority would be getting new industries in Mayem and giving jobs to the people.
