Tourism festival to kick off from Sept 16

PANJIM: The Union Tourism Ministry and State Tourism Department, in collaboration with IHM-Goa and Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) will organize ‘Paryatan Parv’ from September 16 to 27.

This is the second Paryatan Parv after a successfully edition last year. The objective of the programme is to focus attention on the benefits of tourism showcasing the cultural diversity of the State and reinforcing the principle of ‘Tourism for All’.

“Paryatan Parv is an interesting event which will interest local Goans and tourists,” Tourism Director Menino D’Souza said, inviting all to participate in the different activities which will help develop and promote sustainable tourism in Goa.

The event envisages large scale participation from the general public as well as industry stakeholders and will begin with a heritage walk organised at Mala, Panjim. 

A series of programmes and activities will be organised, including a rally on tourism, nukkad natak, Run for Incredible India, hygiene awareness among tourists, street  food vendors and other unorganized sector stakeholders and sensitization in the neighbourhood about Atithi Devo Bhava.

A flash mob program, trek to Mhadei River at Valpoi are some of the other activities envisaged.
