CANACONA: In less than three days another truck carrying coal from Mangalore port to Goa met with an accident due to treacherous turns at Karmal Ghat in Canacona.

A multi-axle truck carrying coal from Mangalore port to an industrial unit at Cuncolim veered off the road while trying to save an LPG tanker that was overtaking at a blind curve on Karmal Ghat in the wee hours of Friday. 

It may be recalled that on Tuesday, a multi-axle truck carrying coal from Manglore to Goa had a tire blow out on Ordhofond bridge on the national highway narrowly escaping from falling into the river below and on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday a truck proceeding towards Cuncolim suddenly came across one empty LPG gas tanker overtaking another tanker at a dangerous blind turn and while trying to save himself and the oncoming tanker from the accident lost control of the vehicle landing it in the drain at the side of the road resting on the road cutting wall. The ill fated truck suffered damages on the cleaner side however the driver escaped with nil injuries.
