Two activists back Pratima in Assembly protest case

MARGAO: Two activists Felix Dias and Kenneth Silveira on Wednesday lambasted CM Manohar Parrikar and the BJP government for “trying to throttle the voice of Goans by filing false cases against Goans fighting for their rights.

Extending support to Mahila Congress President Pratima Coutinho, the duo have condemned the government for filing charge sheet against her pertaining to the protest she had led at the Assembly Complex on November 24, 2017.



 demanding justice to the temporary teachers from Parra.

Felix said the charge sheet is proof that the BJP is only sloganeering about protecting women while Kenneth said the BJP is very much used to filing false cases against people opposing their ideology and said Pratima has been opposing the BJP rule in the interest of Goa and Goans.

The Porvorim Police have filed a charge sheet against Pratima and 6 others under charges pertaining to unlawful assembly and offences committed by members of an unlawful assembly and they are all asked to be present in the E court of JMFC at Mapusa on July 3, at 2.30 pm.
