PONDA: Two of the three ferry boats operating between Durbhat Panhayat and Rasoi, connecting Ponda and Vasco respectively, breaking down, only one boat is currently operating due to which people travelling from both ends are facing great hardship.

Hanumanth Naik from Durbhat said that earlier two ferries were operating from Durbhat ferry ramp to Rasoi, while from Adpoi to Rasoi one ferry was operating. Few days ago one ferryboat on Durbhat-Rasoi route broke down, following which, the River Navigation Department deployed another ferry boat on this route at Marcaim-Cortalim route as a result there is no ferry service now on Durbhat-Rasoi route.

Currently hundreds of commuters travelling from Ponds to Vasco via Adpoi Rasoi route are facing hardship in the absence of a ferry boat. 

Therefore, commuters have demanded at least one ferry boat on urgent basis on Durbaht-Rasoi route.
