Two held for endangering Candolim school students

MAPUSA: Calangute police have arrested two youth from Nerul for driving rashly and creating trouble in the vicinity of St Theresa School at Candolim.

MAPUSA: Calangute police have arrested two youth from Nerul for driving rashly and creating trouble in the vicinity of St Theresa School at Candolim.

According to PI Jivba Dalvi, police received a complaint from St Theresa School authorities stating that some unknown persons were driving their two-wheelers in a rash and negligent manner outside the school premises exactly when the students come out after the school hours thereby endangering their safety as well as that of the general public.

Acting on the complaint, a police team investigated the case and arrested one Somnath Chanappa Mansingh (21) and one Vivian Manuel Camino (19), both residents of Nerul under Sections 279 and 336 of IPC and Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act, 2003 for driving rashly and negligently thereby endangering life of general public and minor students.

Police also attached two Pulsers one of which was without a number plate.

PI Dalvi further informed that he would take action under the Motor Vehicle Act as one of the vehicles was without number plate and both had rocket silencers.
