MAPUSA: The underpass and the elevated highway NH17 at Tar-Bastora, Mapusa was opened on Tuesday for the public in view of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. It is likely to remain open till the end of the festivities.

PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar opened the facility in the presence of Aldona MLA, Glenn Ticlo and PWD officials. The formal inauguration is expected to be held in December by Union Surface Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.

The elevated highway and the underpass have been constructed at a cost of Rs 30 crore.
