Villagers were irked at the Sewerage Department as despite their protests and opposition to STP, it is adamant on building the plant.

Local leader Guru Naik slammed the Sewerage Department for buying land at Undir for the plant despite opposition by the locals.

Guru said that the newly elected panchas and all the villagers are united on issue and criticised the Sewerage Department for not shifting the project elsewhere from village.

The villagers fear that the project would create pollution and stench. The villager contented that they are not against STP in the village but it should not be set up in a residential area.
