PANJIM: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has directed Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) to lodge an FIR against unknown people for obstructing officials performing the duty of checking fish trucks at Polem.

“I have asked FDA to lodge FIR against unknown people for obstructing government officials while performing duty of checking fish trucks at Polem,” Rane said on Tuesday.

He added, “FDA is doing an excellent job in checking each and every truck entering the State. It is not practically possible to check each and every container. The officers just check for random samples and it’s tested using government certified kits.”

Rane said that every truck that has entered the State has been checked till now and FDA has not found the presence of formalin. “We are doing whatever can be done practically. You media people who had gone there must have seen this. Somewhere we have to believe the officials.”
