PANJIM: Stating that there is discontent within the BJP-led coalition, the Congress party on Friday claimed that those sitting in the cabinet are ashamed of the governance.  Speaking to media persons, All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary and Goa desk in-charge Dr Chellakumar said that there is a discontent within the ruling dispension, while the congress house of 16 MLAs is intact.

“Everybody sitting in the cabinet, for every minute, they themselves are feeling ashamed of the current situation. Some are even on record to state that there is an impact on the administration in the absence of Chief Minister,” he said. Chellakumar further said that many MLAs from the ruling side are in touch with him and are ready to shift their political loyalty. “Many of the MLAs from ruling side are in touch with me. There is no doubt about it. I don’t want to disclose the name as I am not a person to backstab someone,” he said.

“Everybody has told me to wait for a time as it is coming nearer. These people are unhappy the way governance is taking place. They are admitting that there is complete collapse of administration,” the AICC leader claimed. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who was in USA for medical treatment, arrived in Goa on Thursday evening, following rumors about split in government and also in the Congress. When asked about the news of split in Congress, Chellakumar said that all 16 MLAs are intact.  “The news about the split in Congress is the plot by BJP to create confusion amongst the public and also to create confusion amongst their own supporters, whoever is supporting the government. They want to create fear in the minds of alliance partners that Congress house is not intact and if you withdraw, the congress does not figure to form the government,” he said.
