Work on retaining wall begins in Bogda
VASCO: To reduce the risk of landslides faced by over 200-odd families residing at Bogda in Mormugao, the Water Resource Department(WRD) has finally come to their rescue and have started the work of retaining wall estimated to cost Rs 3.5 crores and would be completed in next six months.

The foundation stone for the same was laid by WRD Minister Vinod Palyekar others on Friday. Mormugao MLA Milind Naik, MMC deputy chief Shasikant Parab were present on the occasion. Over the past two decades the residents of Tariwado-Bogda were facing threat of landslides, especially during the monsoons.
“The retaining wall was needed as houses built here faced the threat of landlines every year during monsoons. and I have instructed engineers to ensure that the work gets completed in stipulated time,” he said.
