MARGAO: A youngster lost his life and two others were injured one whom seriously, in an accident that occurred at Tembi Raia yesterday afternoon involving a truck and a scooter.

Gautam Shirodkar, 24, who was a pillion rider on an Activa scooter with 21-year-old Abhishek Kundaikar riding it, were proceeding towards Borim bridge when they had a head on collision with a truck that was coming from the opposite direction. 

Not only were the two scooterists flung off the scooter and injured but the scooter also hit a 22-year-old pedestrian Kewal Krishnanath Naik who however was discharged from the hospital after treatment.

Gautam, a resident of Shiroda, and Abhishek, a resident of Vasco, were rushed to Goa Medical College Hospital at Bambolim where Gautam died at around 9.30 pm while Abhishek is undergoing treatment and is reported to be serious.

Maina Curtorim police are on the lookout for the driver of the truck who fled the scene after the accident.
