Manipal Hospitals unveils ambulance service

PANJIM: Manipal Hospitals Goa, part of Manipal Health Enterprises, South India’s largest healthcare chain launched its wide network of ambulance service Manipal Ambulance Response Service (MARS) and an emergency number 8888 70 2222 that will address all clinical exigencies and play a crucial role in saving lives.

“For the first time in Goa, such a wide network of world-class ambulances has been deployed to serve public interest. This new initiative will not only bring the best of medical service a dial away but also ensure that the best of medical assistance is always around if a crisis breaks out,” IGP Goa Police  Sunil Garg said.
“In a medical emergency time plays a very crucial role. MARS- Complete Medical Emergency Solutions offers the most advanced comprehensive service and transportation during medical emergency,” Dr Sachin Jain, Unit Head, Manipal Hospitals
“MARS will provide total monitored patient transportation during an emergency. This service will help the patients and community at large to save precious life during ‘golden hour’. 4 Ambulances will be stationed at crucial junctions in the city 24/7 and attend to the patients in distress,” Dr Shekhar Salkar, Chief of Clinical Services & HOD of Oncology Manipal Hospitals Goa.
The centralized 24 X 7 Call center with  Emergency Response Centre Physicians will attend the emergency calls and tend to them  accordingly. All the ambulance drivers will be trained on Basic Life Support programs to manage Adult and Pediatric Emergency. Equipped with air-conditioner and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, patients now can have their treatment started in the ambulance itself. The ACLS Ambulances are equipped with critical lifesaving equipment like Ventilator/ Defibrillator/ Syringe pump and critical medicines. Also, the ambulances will be equipped with central monitoring system to relay images on patient condition direct to Emergency Response Center at Manipal Hospital.
