Deciding to go on long rides by cycle is not an instant
one. It requires more training and strength to continue cycling. Most
long distance cycling trips are held in cities like Bangalore and Mumbai
while Terrance Moniz is trying to set the trend in Goa. The second
Indian to have completed the 1,200 km ride and only Goan before Dr
Belinda, Terrance plans to take eight Goans for the cycling ride which
has to be completed within certain hours. “ I did France riding from
Mumbai to Indore, Madhya Pradesh and back. Goans have the mindset that
long distance cycling is weary which is not true; I invite more Goans to
join us,” says Terrance, an assistant manager at Drishti Special
Response Services Private Limited.

Terrance is the Secretary of
the Goa Cycling Club and will start the training in August so that they
will be well prepared for the ride in October. “ There are no complex
fitness regimes but control points that have to be reached.”

Goans are
great at cycling for leisure and the sense of freedom is best explored
on the two wheel ride.
