The festival of Chikhal Kallo was celebrated with great joy at Shree Vithal Rakhumai Mandir, Sanguem. People of Sanguem came together at the temple premises to celebrate the playfulness of enjoying a day with Goa’s red mud. The monsoon festival is even more enjoyable in the company of friends just as Lord Krishna played with his friends. This Chikhal kalo also referred to as Dahi kalo by the locals has been celebrated for generations. This festival has been part of Goan tradition since many decades and these villagers are keeping the tradition alive.
