Delhi Police Arrest Gangsters Hired to Kill Comedian Munawar Faruqi After Gunfight

Delhi Police arrested two gangsters linked to the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar–Virender Charan syndicate, who were allegedly assigned to assassinate stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui. The suspects, identified as Rahul (Panipat) and Sahil (Bhiwani), were apprehended following a gunfight on Jaitpur-Kalindi Kunj Road in the early hours of Wednesday.

Officials revealed that the duo had been receiving instructions from foreign-based gangster Rohit Godara and had reportedly scouted Faruqui’s movements in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Acting on intelligence about the suspects’ presence near New Friends Colony, police set up a trap on Kalindi Kunj-Pushta Road. When asked to stop, the shooters opened fire, leading to retaliation by law enforcement.

Rahul sustained a gunshot wound and was wanted in connection with a triple murder in Yamunanagar, Haryana, in December 2024. The arrest comes amid a rising trend of attacks on celebrities by the Goldy Brar gang, including previous threats to Kapil Sharma and an incident outside Disha Patani’s home in Bareilly.
