With a career spanning over 20 years, the versatile and much-loved Goan singer Genevieve Desouza, has marked a new milestone with her solo release, which crossed 33,000 views within just three days of its launch. ‘Fuloi Re Fuloi Go’ bursts with infectious energy from the very first beat, delivering a vibrant, feel-good anthem. Genevieve’s expressive and spirited performance shines throughout, elevated by Skeletron’s electrifying production. The main vocals and concept were by Genevieve Desouza, with music production and composition by Skeletron. The lyrics were written by Genevieve Desouza and Clarence Fernandes. Mixing and mastering were handled by Skeletron, and the recording engineer was Bevvibez. Video production was carried out by Voddem Films, with cinematography by Josephfern D’Souza, Joson Fernandes, and Mevan Rodrigues. The video was edited by Euban Pereira, with colour grading by Josephfern D’Souza. FPV and additional shots were captured by Bigmonkey Productions. Genevieve has long been a strong and familiar voice in Goa’s music community, performing at shows throughout the year, including major Carnival events. When briefing music producer Skeletron, she was clear about her vision. “I told him I wanted a Carnival song, but one that could be played at any occasion like ‘Brazil’ or ‘Let’s Get Loud.’ Based on that, he produced the music. Even while co-writing the lyrics with Clarence Fernandes, I told him not to use phrases like ‘Viva Carnival.’ I wanted it to be a song that could be played any time of the year, but with that samba flavour, groove, and feel,” she explains. Clarence Fernandes from Divar wrote the Konkani lyrics for the song. “I have always been a big fan of Genevieve and also the Goa Carnival. I love my Goa, so when Genevieve called me asking to write some words for this fun Carnival-inspired song, I instantly thought “Vo carnaval fulovya” that lead to the inspiration of ‘Fuloi re Fuloi go’. I’m so glad to have had this opportunity to be a part of such a fun project and with all the love the song has received in just a few hours. I’m not a writer but I love being creative and creating new stuff time and again. I look forward to seeing people dance and come up with their own unique moves showing us how they ‘Fuloi’ to this vibrant tune,” says Clarence. Goan DJ-producer Allan Dsouza from Raia, also known as Skeletron, is still riding the wave of success with his hit ‘Nach Re’. Now he composed the beats for the energetic music for ‘Fuloi Re Fuloi Go’. “It was such a vibe working with Genevieve. She’s truly one of the most talented singers from Goa. We created this song in such a short time, but the energy in the studio was unreal. I produced the track and composed the melody to make sure it stays catchy in your head from the first listen The lyrics were already super catchy, so I made sure to give it that full Carnival flavour something that feels international but still rooted in our Goan spirit. Overall, the process was amazing and the response has been so positive,” says Skeletron. The song was put together in just 27 days. Since Genevieve was keen to release it in time for Carnival, there wasn’t enough time to produce a conventional music video. Instead, a spontaneous idea brought everything together. The video was shot at The Great Cocktail Carnival. “Josephfern D’Souza was available only on that day. Even though it was last minute, Sheryl Fernandes quickly designed my costume, and Carol Fernandes came all the way to Panjim to do my makeup. Everything worked out perfectly. I even learnt the choreography in half an hour by the dance troupe, Dance o-philia. There was no room for retakes. We knew we had only one shot to record it live. Skeletron performed the track live on stage while I sang alongside the dancers, before continuing the evening’s performance with the band, Injunktion. The response has been overwhelming. Everybody loved the song and started posting it online and asking when the song would be out,” she concludes
