After celebrating its tenth edition with great pomp and fervour across three days in 2017, Sulafest, in its 11th edition, has reverted to its festivities spanning over two days of the weekend, on February 3 and 4, 2018. Over the years, the annual extravaganza has piqued the interest of Goans, tempting them to pamper themselves with a quick weekend getaway to indulge in the festivities. Held in the scenic vineyards of Sula in Nashik, the world music festival in its 2018 avatar has on offer gourmet food and a perennial supply of wine and spirits from across the globe.

How to get there
The closest airport to Nashik is Mumbai or Pune with a distance of around 185 km and 220 kms respectively. For those travelling by train, the Nashik railway station is one of the major stations of the Central Railway and there are a number of trains that connect Nashik to other cities and towns. From Mumbai, one can also drive to Nashik by taking the NH-3 via Thane-Kasar-Igatpuri. Those coming from Pune can hop on to one of the several private luxury and state buses available between Nashik and cities like Pune, Shirdi, Aurangabad and Mumbai. Alternatively, one can also hire a cab and make the most of Ola / Uber – a luxury that Goa is yet to experience.
Music
The festival in its tenth edition had expanded to three stages, from its traditional setup of two. In 2018, the festival will have all its musical action back on its two stages – the main Amphitheatre and the Techno stage, Atmasphere. The festival is going all out to impress the music fans by presenting more than 100 artistes from across the globe. Featuring an eclectic mix of bands and music artistes such as Run Pussy Run, Sanjay Dutta, Brodha V, Gypsy Hill and more, to build up the mood, the festival features headlining acts by Crystal Fighters, Parov Stellar, Amit Trivedi and Bauchklang.
Wine and dine
The thing about having a wine and music festival in the vineyards is that there’s never a shortage of wine. And courtesy spirit brands from countries far and wide such as Beluga, Hardys, Mud House, Kumala, Asahi, Pittu Cachacha, there’s enough to keep your head happily buzzing. The multi-cuisine food court will do enough to cater to your hunger pangs and will have on offer a variety of offerings across multiple cuisines. From oriental and Mughlai food to burgers, Indian, Italian cuisines and more, popular gourmet houses such as Mainland China, Hungry Monks, Burger Barn, Makaloo, Konkani Rassa, Maroosh and Urban Spice to name a few, there’s plenty of food that the festival goers can stuff in their tummies to have the right balance of food and wine. SulaFest will serve as a platform to over 30 gourmet food and beverage brands from across the world.
Other fun activities
Courtesy Tinder, one of the sponsors of Sulafest 2018, ‘Camp Tinder’, an exclusive series of intimate after-hours acoustic sessions with some amazing artistes, will be held at SulaFest Tent City, all taking place next to a cosy bonfire. Then there’s grape-stomping, one of the signature fun activities of Sulafest, along with a host of other fun games. The festival venue will also transform into a flea market of sorts, featuring multiple stalls that one can shop at.
