The Junior Herald 5th All Goa Drawing competition, powered by Deccan, and
supported by Fr Agnel Local House-Goa Province, Society of Pilar and St Andre
Village Panchayat Goa Velha was recently held at the Fr Agnel Central School,
Pilar. The event, which witnessed the participation of 130 children, was held
in two categories, with the theme of ‘Scenery depicting flora and fauna in Goa’
for classes 5 to 7, and ‘Heritage sites of Goa’ for classes 8 to 10. The prize
partner for the event was Funskool. The guests for this competition were
Devyani Pande of Deccan; Fr Frederico Rodrigues, Local Superior Fr Agnel; Fr
Richard Crasto, Headmaster of Fr Agnel School; Ruth Cardozo, Sarpanch of Goa
Velha; Andrew Pereira, Dy Sarpanch of Goa Velha; Oswyn Mascarenhas, Secretary,
Goa Velha VP; and other Goa Velha VP members. The competition was judged by
Sidhi Thali and Anand Kauthankar, both Asst Cultural Officers at Art and
Culture Department.
