The inaugural function
of the yearlong celebration was held at Institute Menezes Braganza, Panjim in
the presence of Chief Guest of the function, Vice Chancellor of Goa University
Dr Sanjay Shetye, Headmistress of Mushtifund High School Aparna Chari,
President of the Mushtifund Saunstha Anil Khaunte, Treasurer of the Mushtifund
Saunstha Dilip Dharwadker, Administrator Suhas Sardesai, Vice President of the
Mushtifund Saunstha Dr Ajay Vaidya and Assistant Headmistress Sheela Sangodkar.
Keeping in mind the educational needs of
students in Panjim, Mushtifund Saunstha established the High School in 1990
with the first batch of 38 students for Class V. In 1996, the first batch of 50
students got a 100 per cent at the Goa Board Exams. Sumetra Bhale Joshi was the
first student who had the first registration number. She was felicitated at the
inaugural and shared her experience. Three students – Pratyay Shetye, for
winning the Bal Shree Award 2013 and Sumukh Pinge and Rishikesh Kalghatkar who
represented India in Japan after winning the Fuel Quiz at National Level – were
felicitated at the event.
