The world cup
cricket tournament has been on
for a couple of days. Some of the favourites have displayed their might and
teams like Pakistan have gone to predictable starts. Despite the odd scheduling
of the tournament where by some of the teams have played two matches and India
yet to play even one, that will be sorted out this Wednesday. India commence
their campaign with a match against the embattled South Africans.
The south African
have played two games and lost both and the match against India is very crucial
for them, if they wish to proceed further in the tournament. For India, this
match is important in terms of sending a message to the others teams of their
intentions. The twice world cup winners will be conscious of the fact their
record against the South Africans in World Cup tournaments is not something to
be proud of. Just one win in four encounters does not excite confidence but for
the legion of fans who follow the game in India it is an afterthought.
