Cashless hospitalization
PANJIM: Manipal Hospitals Goa has entered into a contract with Canara Bank for cashless hospitalization facility for all Canara Bank Employees in Goa.
The official signing ceremony of the contract between Canara Bank Goa and Manipal Hospitals Goa for cashless hospitalization was held at the Canara Bank Zonal Office at Mathias Plaza, Panjim.
The contract was signed by Ms Maya G K – DGM-Circle Head Canara Bank, Goa on behalf of Canara Bank Goa, while Mr G Karthihaivelan –Unit Head Manipal Hospitals Goa signed the contract on behalf of Manipal Hospitals Goa.
M Karthikeyan G and Canara Bank branch managers from across Goa were also present.
Free osteoporosis camp at Margao
PANJIM: Loyola Ex-Students Association will organise a free osteoporosis camp on December 1, from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm at Loyola High School, Margao.
Ambelim gram sabha
PANJIM: The gram sabha of Ambelim Village Panchayat will be held on November 17, in the Panchayat office hall at 9.30am.
The members are requested to forward their suggestion if any, in writing on or before November 13, at the panchayat office.
Gomant Bal Bhushan Awards
PANJIM: As a part of Children’s Day celebration, Bal Bhavan has organized a special function to present Gomant Bal Bhushan Awards to five talented children of Goa at the hands of Minister for Forest and Environment Alina Saldanha, on November 14, at 11am at Bal Bhavan Auditorium.
The awards will be presented to Shriya Manohar Tengse, Ankita Vijay Sinai Usgaonkar, Esha Dhanesh Volvoikar, Julian D’Costa and Aniket Ashok Palni.
Kunda S Chodankar, Chairperson of Bal Bhavan Board will preside over the function.
Bal Bhavan team leaves for Delhi
PANJIM: A group of 4 children and two escorts of Bal Bhavan, Goa left for New Delhi to participate in the National Children’s Assembly to be held from November 14 to 20, at National Bal Bhavan, New Delhi. The theme for National Children’s Assembly is ‘Children’s Expression’ where children from across the country will be given an opportunity to participate in creative activities, workshop and programme. Children will also be exposed to veterans, artistes and experts from different areas of Arts and Culture. The Goa Bal Bhavan team consists of Veda Desai, Kamaxi Bandodkar, Narendra Gaonkar, Vithoba Borkar, Mrs Neha Kankonkar (Sr Instructor ~ Dance) and Eknath Gaonkar, Incharge of BBK Gudi Paroda. Bal Bhavan Chairperson Kunda Chodankar, Vice Chairman Ravindra Amonkar, Director Santosh Amonkar and other officials gave over sendoff to the children recently.
Oral Interview for Home Guards
PANJIM: Oral interview of the candidates for enrolment of 820 Home Guards will be held from November 18 to December 17, at Goa Police Administrative Block, GRP, Near College of Art, Altinho, Panjim.
Call letters for attending the oral interview have been dispatched to the candidates by post. Candidates who have not received the letter may contact the Dy Commandant General Home Guards & Dy Director Civil Defence, PHQ, Panjim before November 15 and collect the same. The said list has also been uploaded on Goa Police website [email protected]. The candidates should bring their call letter and Admit Card (Physical Efficiency Test Card) for the interview.
Retreat held at Old Goa
OLD GOA; Khuris Milagres Church, Old Goa organized a half-day retreat for children under the guidance of Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas at this Church premises atop the hillock.
Kids and Children made a beeline to attend this retreat with their parents which received tremendous response.
Outdoor and indoor presentations on Bible were held with slideshows praise and worship. The participants danced for the glory of God.
The retreat concluded with a Mass by Fr Lawrence. Fr Mario Costa was also one of the preachers.
GSCPCR website launch
PANJIM: The Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (GSCPCR) is launching its official website on November 13, at the seminar hall, Secretariat, Porvorim from 10 am to 11 am.
The launch of the website is in view of the need to create awareness among the stakeholders on issue of child abuse in Goa.
Observatories to reopen
PANJIM: With the end of monsoons, all the Public Astronomical Observatories in Goa will be reopened.
The observatory on the terrace of Junta House, Panjim will be opened for from November 14 till May 31, 2014 daily from 7pm to 9pm (including Sundays and holidays). The observatory on the terrace of Boshan building, Mapusa will function from November 15 and will remain open on every Friday from 7pm to 9 pm while the astronomy centres at Vivekanand Vidyalaya, Borim, Vidyaprasarak High School, Morjim, Mallikarjun Vidyalaya, Canacona and Regina Mundi High School, Vasco will be kept open for specific and pre-announced programs. The entry for members of general public is free.
Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation awards
PANJIM: Applications are invited for the Mumbai-based Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation awards. The awards are under national category for outstanding contribution in the field of constructive work in rural India and the other for application of science and technology for rural development and the third for development and welfare of women and children (instituted in memory of Padma Vibhushan Jankidevi Bajaj. The international award is for promoting Gandhian values outside India. Details and application form are available at office of the Directorate of Women and Child Development, Shanta Building, St Inez, Panjim and should be submitted by December 15.
