Car drawing contest at Margao
PANJIM: Autobuzz Goa along with Auto Industries Goa is organizing a car drawing competition on June 9, at Clube Harmonia, Margao from 11 am to 5 pm for kids aged 6 to 14 years. Art materials will be provided or you may bring your own. Prizes will be awarded. Participation is limited to the first 100 kids. For registration, contact 2714818. Blood donation camp today
PANJIM: A blood donation camp has been organized by Bhalchandra Technologies with the support of Goa Medical College Blood Bank at their premises on June 8, from 9 am to 1 pm. People are requested to volunteer for this donation camp as your one drop of blood can save a precious life.
Environment cleaning drive at Varca
PANJIM: The Zuri White Sands, Goa Resort and Casino conducted environment cleaning drive by its employees on the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5. About 200 kilos of garbage in the form of plastic, wood, glass, etc, was collected from the roadside proceeding towards the Varca beach. To commemorate this day, all employees also wore green ribbons thus creating awareness among the villagers and hotel guests. The theme for this year: Think, Eat & Save, was highlighted and in-house competitions were held.
Course in Romi Konknni
PORVORIM: Thomas Stephens Konknni Kendr (TSKK) will conduct a Konknni basics course in Roman script from June 10 to July 9, from Monday to Friday from 2.30 pm to 5.15 pm. TSKK Konknni course in Roman script uses a modern linguistic approach to teach Konknni to beginners. Though spoken Konknni will get primary stress, reading Konknni in Roman script will also be insisted upon as will regular attendance. For details, contact TSKK office.
Fatorda Don Bosco Oratory meet
PANJIM: There will be a general body meeting of Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda on June 9, at 10 am at Don Bosco, Fatorda. The events scheduled for the upcoming year will be discussed and amended. The new membership will be closed after the meeting.
Sahil secures 77% in BCom
PANJIM: Ramakant alias Sahil Nayak secured 77 per cent marks in BCom examination of March 2013. He has also secured the first rank in Siridora Caculo College of Commerce and Management Studies, Mapusa. Sahil is also a national swimmer.
