Why is the BJP government adamant on imposing helmets? Arbitrarily citing rise in fatalities as a cause for this rule is farce! The government is the main reason for accidents on highway and ‘all roads’, as they are taking shortcuts in addressing pressing issues. By ‘all roads’ I understand all village roads and paths that are made into roads without planning. So, there is bound to be a wall jutting out or some sort of obstructions. How does helmet for both save us in these situations? Does a path need to be a road or not must be assessed and implemented or be left as it is! Further the RTOs are dishing out licenses like flyers, as everyone seems to have easy access to a license. This has unleashed a deluge of immature drivers and riders with absolutely no road sense! An Indian license has no recognition anywhere in the world as everyone is aware of the pathetic standards we adopt to gauge driving and riding skills. How about more statistics and articles on these issues? Helmets must be our right to decide and not the Goa government’s!
