We have seen how the central government pulled up all the resources and command to make sure the International Yoga Day was a stupendous success. Yoga was practiced in India for thousands of years and shall continue to be practiced perpetually. If yoga is one form of remedy for health and mind then so be it. But, we Indians need the cure of our hearts and soul to come out of caste discrimination and religious intolerance.
We have to learn to keep our surrounding clean and neat. We have to learn to respect law and avoid short cut methods. The happiness index of the citizens is not measured by wealth and health alone. We in India must start preaching the benefit of honesty and sincerity. We have to learn to distinguish between good and bad and avoid temptation of creating ill-gotten wealth.
Take the example of people from Japan they are so polite, respectful, well mannered, disciplined and very ethical. They will make sure to avoid making money by the easy route and at the cost of others. They believe in hard work, commitment and quality.
Such type of behavior can only be achieved when body, mind and soul is clean. To be honest is necessity and not an obligation. Just like yoga, the government should make efforts to try to preach and practice honesty and ethics of life in schools, colleges and in the administration. A lot of change can happen in this country within a short time.
The central government should stop scoring brownie points at the cost of emotion of the Indian people rather they should work to clean the mess of corruption and arrogance of power.
