ZP election results clearly indicate Congress is no more a party of the people of Goa but individual’s capacity. Congress was not ready to field candidate in Velim constituency because they could not find any candidate as it was reserved for OBC.
It was Savio D’Silva, Sarpanch of Velim, who took the responsibility to put Congress candidate and make sure he wins. Now all Congress top leaders take credit of Velim win but who will take responsibility of total loss all over Goa. Will it be Girish Chodankar?

ZP election victory
Congratulations to the BJP for winning the ZP elections with a overwhelming majority. And commiserations to the losers for not being able to highlight the issues which affect Goa.
The loss of the elections will only embolden the ruling party to carry out their agenda with greater determination.
Ultimately it is the loss of the Goan voters who until now have not woken up to the wanton destruction of Goa. 2022 is not very far away and if we follow this same pattern then whatever is left of our sorrowing land will also be destroyed.

Helping persons with disabilities
I would like to thank the CM and Social Welfare Dept for starting assessment camp and procurement of aids and appliances to persons with disabilities in Goa.
Although I would have loved to attend the camp on 07/12/20 at Arts & Culture Dept as per information given to me by my ward member and panchayat peon, I could not take quickly a last moment decision due to fear of Covid-19 pandemic all over as I am having respiratory problem last one year due to my muscle defect. I am also a diabetic person but I could not meet any doctor for the last 7 months.
I am at home only following the guidelines of Govt of India, Govt of Goa and advices from medical fraternity on social media that disable persons, co-morbidities persons should not go out as we are more prone to get infected.
I would be grateful if your good office, through Social Welfare Dept in future, arranges a doctor or responsible person to do the needful not only to me but persons all over Goa who could not attend the camps for whatever best reason.

Proud moment for the State of Goa
It is a proud moment for the State of Goa and Goans who will be celebrating its 60th Anniversary of Goa liberation on December 19, 2020. It is nice to see that Goa State Government and CM will felicitate all the freedom fighters and pay respects to them who have fought for the freedom of Goa from Portuguese rule.
It is also nice to hear from CM that the government will protect all the historical sites in Goa which our young generation should know in the coming future. There are so many old sites during the kings’ rule and during the Portuguese rule in our village Chandor with heritage houses and monuments and we request our Goa State government to save and protect our identity by repairing them and by painting it.
One thing I can say is after going from Goa the Portuguese had given a great opportunity to the people of Goa to make a Portugal passport and go to any European countries to work for their families, and this opportunity advantage is now taken by the outsiders who changed their original name to a Goan people names and surname to settle down in Europe by making Portugal passport submitting fake documents for the greed of money.
So on the occasion of Goa 60th Liberation Day Anniversary, we wish all the people of Goa and Goans throughout the world a happy Liberation Day. Also salute our Goa freedom fighters and their families for their brave work. God save Goa State from the hands of our own corrupt politicians and dirty mind businessmen.

Le Carre, master of intrigue passes away
Britain’s stupendous spy thriller writer John Le Carre passed away at the age of 89. Le Carre was a master storyteller who kept the reader riveted till the end of the novel with compulsive, enthralling, engrossing and intriguing spy thrillers that held every reader spell bound. His spy novels were so imaginative that one felt that the entire web of plot and counter plot and scheme and counter scheme were real and as the story unfolded the reader was in constant suspense as to the outcome of the thriller till the end.
Among his best novels were Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Spy who came in from the Cold, Smiley’s People and The Little Drummer Girl. Le Carre was a master raconteur in words and can be easily rated as one of the best spy thriller writers of all time.
Although he is gone, his novels will still continue to be spine chilling for all those who read his espionage works.

Masks for one reason, all seasons
Wearing the face mask is the new normal which will be around for quite a while until the vaccine for the corona virus reaches the masses. However, a face mask need not be a drab cloth covering one’s face. Wearing the mask need not be an obstacle to one’s desire to dress well. At weddings of the elite, ladies are seen wearing very expensive-looking masks. Ladies usually wear masks which match with the colour of their outfit. Indeed the face mask could become a part of the style statement in the present context till such time that the pandemic disappears.
Masks can depict a theme and even send a message across. It is as good as wearing a T-shirt with a message printed on it. Christmas season is just around the corner and it is understood that people are not only getting new clothes stitched for the festive season but also buying new Christmas-themed masks to welcome the season. There are a variety of masks to choose from right from hand-painted to lace-ones to even embroidered ones. There are masks with Christmas motif like Santa Claus, Christmas tree, snowflakes, Reindeer, etc, that are available.
As time passes masks with innovative designs and prints could flood the markets which could make wearing one a pleasurable necessity and for all festive seasons.

Politicians should take the blame
So yes, Goa is going to celebrate its 60th liberation day and as usual all the noise about it has started coming, especially from politicians (disgruntled ones). People of Goa have seen what we have achieved and where we have fallen behind and for that majority of the blame lies on our politicians who have put their interests first than of the land they promised to serve.
While in the ruling party or coalition everything according to them is being done as per the way it should be done whether building Dubai-styled fish markets against the wishes of the people or turning coconut trees into grass and back to vice versa as per their whims and fancies.
The same golden philosophies turn into black and grey once the same leaders are dumped from power. The whole future of Goa instantly turns to bleak according to them. Such are the qualities of our present leaders.
While the work they do then is much appreciated and welcome as it will keep the one in power grounded and in check, we all know to take the words of turncoats and deserters with a pinch of salt. Wishing all such politicians to keep the good work going, Jai Hind! Jai Goa!
