“The Need of the Hour” for Goa and Goans today is not big airports and bridges, one on top of the other but simple things like security of her citizens who are begging for help and justice.
There have been countless reports and editorials in the media (esp. Herald) about the crimes against women about the infamous Camurlim rape and two more incidents and now we hear that the victims are themselves being made the perpetrators of the most horrific crimes committed by none other than their own family members and neighbours.
The paradox here is that in order to protect the criminals and those who are abetting these crimes the Mapusa Police have decided to use the long arm of the law to silence the victims by branding the victims as criminals.
It is high time that all right thinking people should unite and fight against the injustice and harassment meted out by the Mapusa Police and district administration to the innocent victims who have no one to fight for them.
