Rare unification

It has been reported that in a rare unification & without any dispute, between the Ruling & Opposition parties in the incumbent BJP-led NDA government, Constitution 119th amendment  Bill , to allow operationalization of the 1974 India-Bangladesh Land Boundary Agreement (swapping of land/enclaves), giving a fresh look to the earlier error-drafting  bill ( may be the first such faux pas in the Constitution amendment bill ) , has since been passed without any hurdles.
The historic mile-stone  Land Agreement Bill seeks to settle India’s 41-year-old border issue with its neighbour Bangladesh and will help operationalization and ratification of  the land boundaries agreement that provides for exchange of territories (swapping of land/enclaves), in that India will get 510 acres & Bangladesh 10,000 acres. This is a great achievement for the incumbent government which is fully backed by the Opposition and its leader Sonia Gandhi of the Congress Party.  It is hoped that similar type of cooperation will be extended by the Opposition in future for ‘Just’ bills.
