One lane of the Miramar-Dona Paula road has been taken for laying a concrete road. This makes an interesting story. Both lanes of the road were asphalted first and they became smooth and gleaming. Then it was decided to lay the road in concrete and the lane on the left side was taken up. It was realized that before laying the road in cement, sewage line had to be laid. The contractor of the sewage line dug deep trenches; laid the sewage pipes; constructed the manholes and filled the trenches. Then the work of concretization started. The new contractor dug the filled up trenches and also remaining portion of the lane till the foundation of the sewage line. In the process, he punctured the water pipes. The finished manholes were damaged in a few places. Then they filled the trenches with large and small rubbles and layered the rubbles with mud. Someone realized that at some segments of the lane needed a concrete foundation. In the beginning perhaps they did not realize the road needed skirting. The skirting work that is being done is like the drawing of small child — there is no continuity: A small stretch here and small stretch there. In the manner in which the work of laying the concrete road is done, possibly it take will another five years to complete it.
