Uniforms for bus staff

Very shortly all drivers and conductors in public transport buses will have to wear identity cards on their shirts. This must be considered a step in the right direction as it will ensure security and safety of the passengers. It is, however, observed that drivers and conductors of private buses are seldom seen in uniform. Just wearing an identity card on their shirts will not suffice. It should also be made mandatory for drivers and conductors of private buses to wear uniforms. If the drivers and conductors of the State-owned Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) buses are required to wear their light blue uniform while on duty, why shouldn’t it be made mandatory for the drivers and conductors of private buses also to wear the khaki uniform? If need be the colour of the uniform of the drivers and conductors of private buses could also be changed from the present khaki uniform to another colour so that they are easily identified.
