Finally the Goa government has woken up to the reality of having to adopt austerity measures after realizing that they have no money left even to pay for salaries. Since the government is the trustee of public money it is the duty of the government to ensure that the money is spent for the welfare of its people and not for wasteful expenditure like sending ministers on foreign jaunts. If these austerity measures are in place all through the year there will be no wasteful expenditure and the money saved can be used for developmental projects which will benefit the people thereby making Goa a vibrant state.
