Our elected politicians are destroying this tiny beautiful state by selling it to non-Goan builders and by promoting all types of filthy illegal activities in the name of promoting tourism and improving Goa’s economy.
Today, one can practically see drugs being sold almost everywhere and girls from neighbouring states supplied to clients through mobile calls throughout the year in most coastal areas, especially at tourist hot spots like Calangute, Baga, Anjuna, Vagator, Morjim etc. Unfortunately, despite the whole world knowing this, we see not just our politicians, but even the men in uniform behaving like the three monkeys and they turn in blind eye to illegal activities as it guarantees them their regular ‘haftaas’ or bribes.
Most of us have the habit of only blaming the outsiders for all the mess cum destruction, but I think that partly we Goans should also be held responsible for the same as some of us have slowly gone to sell our souls for the sake of money. When it comes to money, everything is fine as we see absolutely no evil in Goa. Why, don’t most of us sell our ancestral houses/properties for outsiders just for the sake of becoming lakhpatis or millionaires overnight? Don’t we rent our rooms, guest houses for unknown people from neighbouring states and even for those notorious Nigerians in spite of knowing full well that they supply drugs in different parts of Goa?
Now, under such circumstances how can one expect and dream of stopping the ongoing destruction of Goa? I think that we Goans can only talk, but can do nothing because it is we who have given the green signal for the ongoing destruction of Goa by supporting the same and remaining silent.
Yes, today Goans are themselves selling and destroying Goa.
