When you enter a Hotel you find a reception counter with the receptionist, manager, bell boy, room boy etc, etc. They show you the prevailing rates and you book your room according to your choice. Here you know beforehand approximately how much your final bill will come to so you are least worried and cool about it. Nowadays hospitals too are offering luxuries, there is a reception counter with the receptionist, matrons, nurses and room helpers, here room of your choice is described to you by the doctor treating you instead of room boys the nurses visit off and on to monitor your health, service is good. What final bill when you get on discharge makes you sick again. Their charge is never ending, room charge, AC charge, doctors charge, operation charge, nursing charge, kitchen charge, this charge, that charge etc etc.
Hospitals are becoming money making businesses. Every doctor product wants to own a hospital one fine day. Because if you own a hospital, you have a very lucrative business. Every private hospital has their agents in the form of general doctors who operate small clinics, they get commission from these hospitals if they recommend patients to them, some practicing doctors are on the payroll of these hospitals as they consult the patients there and also are available for operations etc.
These hospitals even have their own pharmacies and other care studios, sometimes even for a minor injury you are recommended for admission in these hospitals, your mood changes only upon receiving their bill. We humans are to be blamed for all these luxuries sprouting in all sectors, we don’t have time so these luxuries take care of the short comings, we don’t want to admit our near and dear ones in Government hospitals as we think that they are hospitals for the poor. Friends I must say that some of our Best hospitals like Goa Medical Bambolim, Asilo Mapusa, Hospicio are good hospitals where treatment is sure but we refrain from going there. There may be some short comings of these hospitals but they are the best we have today.
Outsiders from Maharashtra and Karnataka are taking free treatment from these government hospitals but why not we. Remember my dear friends the luxury private hospitals may give you the best of treatment in their institutions but when your case gets complicated and when they loose hope of your survival they dump you in our government hospitals and quietly wash their hands of your sickness, so the next time you are sick or need medical attention visit our Government hospitals free of cost or die of surprise bills in the luxurious private hospitals.
