It was a cozy evening with the rain pouring in. I was sitting with my mum and sister watching the TV, holding my nephew. We all were engrossed into the episode, however my nephew kept moving when suddenly he started crying. I carried him to our garden and sat at the entrance of the door. He was silent and watched the rain pour in, the frogs croaking, my dog dozing and then he gave me a warm smile
At that moment I realized happiness is a collection of these small moments in life. He made me realize the value of time, Time is now.
At times we are so engaged in our routine life that we fail to give time not only for ourselves but also our family. Amidst the rat race in life, there is someone in our life who longs for our time. “All you can think of is meetings, schedules and contracts, when was the last time we had a happy family time?”, complained Troy (name changed) to his father.
When people are lost into their world of sadness, problems, failure and all the darker sides of life, they lose the precious moments of life. You live your life once, make the most of what you have. Even when you are feeling low you should pick up yourself and look at the brighter side of life. There comes a time when we do realize that its time to fight back and wake up to a bright sunny morning thinking that today will be our best last day spent in thinking positive.
We are in a constant rat race of life where everyone is here to compete. Competition is prevalent in our everyday lives. Whether it is that swanky car that you’ve noticed in your neighbourhood, that trendy outfit that makes you envious when you see your colleague flaunting it, even competing for a higher post in a company, competing for a higher grade in the class, whew….. When is the time to breathe?, is a deep question we need to ask ourselves.
Money can’t buy you happiness. Happiness is a consequence of nurturing your relationships with your family and friends. I remember when I was working, I would come home all worked out, be glued to the television, have a hearty meal and off to sleep. One day when I woke up I realized my life was monotonous, just like another routine life.
In our busy schedules, let us make time for our loved ones because tomorrow is not promised for everyone. In fulfilling our dreams and wishes we should not forget our loved ones.
I would like to quote the famous thought, “Time and tide waits for no man”, keeping this in mind let’s take time to embrace our loved ones, enjoy the present and most of all find happiness in the ordinary.
