We drive and ride on pothole roads, still we call development. Paddy-fields are destroyed, hills are slaughtered, trees are chopped and still we call development and progress. There is irreversible damage to the environment, climate change still we call development. If there are educational institutions, there are no teachers still we don’t hesitate to call development. If we think of the health, it is disregarded over the years still we don’t hesitate to call progress. If there are hospitals there are no doctors or nurses. If there are doctors or nurses there is no oxygen still we don’t hesitate to call it development. If there are doctors, nurses and oxygen there will be no beds still we call progress. Laws are manufactured without proper discussions or debates at one stroke without having infrastructure put at place still we call development. The Courts are overburdened with the cases. Few Judges, plenty cases. Each Judge is hearing 80-100 cases per day. The ratio of Judges vis-a-vis with the population is far less and still we call development.
The cost of living is gone up, standard of living is gone down, but still we don’t hesitate to call development. The value of Rupee is ebbing day by day and still we call development. There is no respect for the human beings. There is no respect or dignity of work but still we call development. Life is counted what he has and not what he is. Honesty, sincerity, loyalty, fidelity are all not found in anyone’s dictionary but still we call development.
The primary needs such as food, clothing and shelter have touched to the sky. The common men have no place to have good food, clothing and shelter.
