Minister sir, LGBT is not a disease

We appreciate that the Sports and Youth Affairs Minister is taking keen interest in the development of youth in sports. However he seems to have landed on the wrong side in stating that the government is envisaging to train the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) youth group, by setting up a centre and providing them treatment and medicine, to help them overcome their condition and become normal.
It is unfortunate that despite all the clarifications given by various groups based on scientific studies that LGBT is not a disease to be treated but an intrinsic trait in some individuals and that sexual orientations differ in some people, the minister has made such a ridiculous statement to lower the prestige of his government.
Normally when some of our high profile politicians make such statements without application of mind,  there is immediate backtracking with a note that they were quoted out of context. But in this case the minister has been denying that he has said anything of that sort. This is unfortunate and needs to be looked into.
Nonetheless it may be noted that any such preposterous remarks on the LGBT group are unacceptable. It is only some people with regressive and indoctrinated mind-sets, who hearken at such outlandish comments, taking recourse to something written thousands of years ago that since the beginning of times man and woman were created, though in reality everything has evolved over billions of years according to nature’s laws. Obviously such people cannot fathom anything beyond the man-woman relationship and worse still impose this doctrine on others.
It would be pertinent to mention here what the highly revered Pope Francis remarked on this unfortunate and despised section of the society, ‘who am I to judge them if they’re seeking the Lord in good faith?’ The cry all over the world is to honour their rights and give them freedom to live as per their way of life, instead of showcasing our ‘holier than thou attitude’
