Miramar-Dona Paula road

Before commencing any project, it should be well planned taking into account longevity of atleast  25 years, consulted and examined by the authority to give a go ahead on the works.   Lack of co-ordination among the government authority and contractor involved, incompatible staff and engineers who filled the positions by influence and not on merit basis will definitely increase cost and delay any project and add woes to commuters and residents.
Do we need to do one job twice or thrice, since the Miramar-Dona Paula road works was recently done, it could have  well planned and completed at lesser cost if the intentions were good.  There are hundreds of well qualified and knowledgeable professional who could give good advice, without undergoing the trouble again in destroying the complete road, it could have done with less destruction and costs and saved tens of crores of rupees with less trouble to the people and road users. Money does not come easy, one has to earn it hard way and others enjoy spending or misuse it.
First of all, our government is ignorant of the required specification of all the projects which are undertaken for development and does not have technical expertise to carry out any good job, up to the standard, reality can be seen immediately after repair or new road work done with hidden potholes and man holes popping out on the roads, this is our super planning to corruption. If the government is not capable to complete the project due to lack of expertise, it can be delayed, promises made and you full fill in haste will do no good for the people and the state.  When your ministers are questioned you intervene and say you will personally get involved, then remove the useless and cost incurring ministers and take over their responsibility if you have nothing else better to do.
Trying to be  master of all trades then one should have examined the plan of major projects with engineers and contractors involved, you don’t need useless ministers let them relax at home and enjoy the salary on peoples cost and grievances. Government’s lack of planning, knowledge and responsibility, is the cause of suffering of the poor people. Suppose a huge tree is a risk to motorist and other road users, one won’t cut down the whole tree to fall onto the road and block it.  The good and knowledgeable planner will see the right time to cut it is when road users become less and start on branch by branch and then piece by piece of the main stem.  Good governance needs better and knowledgeable leaders.
One can see how the drain system along the main roads in villages and cities  are left unsupervised doing their work and laying concrete without proper portion of material required which brittles and goes down the drain during first monsoon.
Government not only wastes the publicmoney but the drains are in bad shape too, putting residents in trouble.  Don’t be in hurry to get project’s completed because you promised and waste tax payers money.   Compulsion, site engineer and supervisor must be present during working time and should not be left on the worker to complete these projects.
