A lot is being unearthed or brought to light by Goa’s leading daily and the same has been defended or justified or eye washed with mere inquiries! As the case of ‘treating Goans as Guinea pigs’ ‘the medical bills of the elected representatives…’, the recent toilets ‘gottala’ in Canacona taluka!
Some were amused while others stunned to read, “Corruption free governance” ‘number 1 State among the States of our country and a call to the youth to help, support… should I say a statement or a promise from the Chief Minister?
The cream of the society, our youth, our future to whom a call is made to render support to make Goa No 1 State is a good gesture, but are these youth offered opportunities to get settled with government jobs? More than 3,000 jobs which are not released and those given on a contract basis, what do we expect from the jobless youth rather than inadequate behaviour and vices?
A call to the Chief Minister to roll back 45 years of employment age limit back to 35 years. With the extended age limit of 45 years many of the degree students have become addicts of different vices. Desperate, crest fallen, running errands, and its consequence disturbance in the families. A youth finishes the post graduation by 24 to 25 years, with the current laxity in age what support do the government expects from the youth or how does the government plan to reach out to them? The joblessness of their wards worries the parents and in the bargain they become overage to settle in life!!! A call to the Govt to pass this bill after discussion in the coming Assembly session!
The need of the hour for the State is to be independent, self-sufficient, and self-reliant to attain the desired dream of being the No. 1 State among the States of the country.
Due to recent man made calamities the State was found bankrupt to bear the loss. Which means financially unstable and dependent on the Central Government? For food items, veggies, etc, we depend on our neighboring States! With our vast land, fields, wet lands, a call to the government to till and cultivate, use the influx of vote bank migrants to produce good crops and cultivation, to the extent we become self-sufficient and stop import from neighbouring states, which will also do away with the Agency mafia and the soaring prices?.
To rise to the standard of being No. 1, we need well equipped hospitals. As we have seen the elected representatives taking medication outside Goa while the Goans are left to eat dust! The medicine wards of GMC …insufficient beds, people on the floor!. We have well trained doctors in GMC minus Hospicio! The people from the South struggle, who cares? So many years the new hospital near Kadamba bus stand in Margao is yet to see the dawn but the new Mandovi Bridge was more important than the people of South Goa!
It is advisable to stop building Castles in the air and have our roots grounded; financially sound; techno savvy, good equipped hospitals for deadly diseases and good PHCs well furnished with equipments and sufficient staff on duty; eco-friendly and income generating industries, the list can go on and a call: roll back the age limit for Government jobs from 45 years to 35 years!
