In India, there is no dearth at all of the politically motivated and backed fake charlatans, posing themselves as ‘God-men and Goddesses-women’ and so is the case of number of their superstitious followers/devotees getting fully involved in them and their activities. The latter’s blind faith and cultism are mainly two factors that are responsible for making these charlatans above the God and Goddesses. The incumbent Haryana government and the one ruled in the past, irrespective of their political parties which they belong, are partially responsible for rising the Godman Ram Rahim as they connived at his wrong doings. Mainly the obsessed followers/devotees should be blamed for supporting the so called alleged incarnation of fake God. In this particular case of MSG (The Messenger of the God) Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh (DOB: Aug 15 1967, age 50 ) of Sirsa/Haryana state who possesses huge properties/assets and have above seven crore devotees from Haryana, Punjab, Rajashtan, Bihar, etc. and from abroad too, who all along was carrying out his ‘devotional duties’ (business) since Sept 23, 1990. He was well established/settled in the Ashram in Sirsa with the backing of his followers. But then he fell from the grace, as he was personally involved in alleged murder of predecessor and journalist, and in rape cases of two Sad-dhvis (virtuous women). Even an involvement of other women cannot be possibly ruled out. But the victims did not come forward due to fear and stigma. None dared to lodge a complaint, but only an anonymous letter to the court has totally exposed Ram Rahim who has been convicted for rape cases and sentenced on Aug 28, 2017 for 20 years jail (10 years each for two separate rape cases). The riots after announcement by the court proving him guilty in rape cases has taken a fatal toll of 38 persons and destruction of huge public and private properties. The deterrent punishment awarded to him by the court also gives a signal of strong warning to the fake Gurus/Babas to desist from such misleading activities and fooling around the public.
