I really do not understand the fear in the minds of people regarding the Ghar Wapasi programme held in Goa by the VHP. Who in their right mind would want to change their religion for some incentives? Only those whose religion has no meaning for them or in the case of Christians those who do not value the suffering and death of Jesus on the cross for them in their lives. It is better to have a few thousand Christians who are on fire for Jesus than to have lakhs of lukewarm Christians for whom the suffering and death of Jesus has no meaning.
If you look at the so called success of the Ghar Wapasi programmes held by the VHP in other states you will see that only 30-50 families in each state have gone back to Hinduism. In Goa also the results will be no different. What difference does 50 families make to any religion when there are lakhs of families in that religion in any state including Goa? Why are we getting so hyper and over agitated over nothing?
Today there are many non-Christians who are practicing the teachings of Jesus of love and forgiveness better than many Christians without changing their religion. That is important and that is what is scaring the VHP because even Mahatma Gandhi said “If every Christian lived like a Christian there would be no need of any other religion”. Here we are having non-Christians living like Christians without changing their religion and that is making the VHP and the RSS to hate the Christians.
Even the hate campaign against Blessed Mother Teresa by the VHP and RSS is a fallout of the same hatred towards Christians. It is sinful and shameful to speak against a person after their death because they cannot defend themselves. The VHP and RSS did not have the guts to speak against Blessed Mother Teresa during her lifetime and it does not matter what anybody says about her after her death because God has raised her to the altar as Blessed Mother Teresa in a short span of five years after her death only because He was pleased with her. This is sufficient proof of her intentions to serve the poor – She worked to please God.
The Christians in Goa are having processions all over Goa demanding that the Government protect us from the so called fundamentalists. The Government cannot protect us from thieves and murderers and we are expecting them to protect us from somebody who has their full support? I request you to say Psalm 91 everyday for 24 x 7 protection from Jesus who loves us unconditionally and has kept his angels in charge of us every moment of our lives.
I also appeal to the VHP and the RSS to concentrate on their own religion and stop their hate campaign against the Christians and let us live in peace in Goa or face the consequences for the book of Sirach 28:6 says “O Man remember your end and repent” and I am sure the Bhagwad Gita also says the same thing.
