A major global outage hit X, the social media platform owned by Elon Musk, leaving thousands of users unable to access services across several countries, including India. According to outage-tracking website Downdetector, complaints surged sharply around 19:00 IST, with more than 25,000 users in India reporting disruptions. Similar issues were reported in the United States, where over 23,000 users flagged problems ranging from login failures to feed-loading errors. The outage briefly disrupted communication for businesses, journalists, and public users who rely on the platform for real-time updates.

X, which Musk acquired in 2022 for $44 billion, had experienced relatively fewer widespread outages in recent months compared with rival platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. The company had not officially explained the reason for the disruption at the time of reporting, though services were gradually restoring in several regions.
