Six feared dead after passenger train collides with goods train in Bilaspur

At least six people were killed and several others injured after a passenger train collided with a stationary goods train in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur district on Tuesday. The tragic crash occurred on the Bilaspur–Katni section near Lal Khadan when the Korba MEMU train overshot a signal and rammed into the rear of a freight train.

The collision caused coaches to pile up and derail, disrupting railway operations. Rescue teams, including RPF personnel and medical units, rushed to the scene to assist victims. Railways have issued helpline numbers and suspended several train services. Senior officials are supervising the ongoing relief operations.
