Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh has extended his support to the ongoing student protests over the alleged NEET examination irregularities, saying he expects to once again be labelled “anti-national” for speaking out. His remarks came after clashes between protesters and security personnel during the ‘Sansad Chalo’ march in Delhi on the opening day of the Monsoon Session.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Diljit condemned the alleged police action against students and urged the authorities to listen to their concerns instead of suppressing their voices. “What happened today was very wrong. Students should not have been treated like this. I request the authorities to listen to the students’ demands. The voice of the people is the voice of God,” he wrote.

The actor recalled the criticism he faced after supporting the 2020-21 farmers’ protest, saying he expects a similar reaction this time. Diljit said he had previously faced backlash and legal troubles for expressing his views and believes he will once again be branded “anti-national.”
The protests, led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), seek reforms in the education system, the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and action over the alleged NEET paper leak. Protesters have also expressed support for activist Sonam Wangchuk, who continues his indefinite fast at Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital.
Several Bollywood personalities, including Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia Deshmukh, Sonu Sood, Vir Das, Dia Mirza, Soha Ali Khan, Shabana Azmi and Prakash Raj, have also expressed solidarity with the students, while some actor-politicians have backed the government’s stand.
