US President Donald Trump has expressed his desire to prevent visiting world leaders, such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, from witnessing tents, graffiti, or deteriorating infrastructure in proximity to federal buildings in Washington D.C. Consequently, he has mandated a significant cleanup of the nation’s capital.
“We are in the process of revitalizing our city. We are enhancing this magnificent capital, and we will not tolerate crime,” Trump remarked on Friday during a meeting with officials at the Department of Justice. “We will remove the graffiti, and we are already dismantling the tents.”

He remarked that Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser has been supportive of the initiative. “We pointed out that there were numerous tents directly across from the State Department. They needed to be removed, and they were taken down immediately. So far, so good,” he stated.
Trump expressed his desire for the capital to serve as a point of national pride and a representation of order for visiting dignitaries. “When Prime Minister Modi of India, the President of France, and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom visited me, I arranged the route accordingly. I did not want them to encounter tents, graffiti, damaged barriers, or potholes in the streets. We ensured it looked beautiful,” he emphasized.
