Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a high-profile visit to Israel, marking his second trip since the landmark 2017 tour. During the two-day visit, Modi held wide-ranging talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, focusing on strengthening cooperation in defence, trade, technology and agriculture.
Welcoming the Indian leader at the Knesset, Netanyahu described Modi as “more than a friend,” thanking him for India’s support following the October 7, 2023 Hamas attacks. Modi had been among the first global leaders to condemn the assault, which killed around 1,200 Israelis and saw about 250 people taken hostage.
