11,31,618 set to vote in Lok Sabha, Assembly by-polls

. As on March 10, the valid voters in the State are 11, 31,618, who will be eligible for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and three assembly by-polls 
. The total valid voters in the by-election constituencies are 32,129 in Mandrem, 29,103 in Mapusa and 28,919 in Shiroda respectively. There are altogether 276 service voters
. The total no of voters in South Goa is 5.78 lakh
. The poll timings are from  07:00 am to 6:00 pm as against the state assembly election trend of holding polls between 8.00am to 5.00pm. 
. Additional CEO Narayan Sawant said that polling for LS elections always begins from 7.00am and ends at 6.00pm.  The polling time for the three by-poll seats will be the same. 
.  There are 1652 polling stations of which 810 in South Goa and 842 in North Goa.
. Every polling station will be equipped with assured minimum facilities like drinking water, shed, toilet, standard voting compartment and ramps for the physically challenged voters
. VVPATs will be used along with the EVMs at every polling station in the state. The Commission has already made arrangement to ensure availability of adequate number of EVM and VVPAT for smooth conduct of polls.
. All electors who have been issued EPIC shall produce it  for their identification at the polling station. 
.Those electors who are not able to produce the EPIC shall produce one of the documents such as:  Passport, Driving License, Service identity cards with photographs issued to employees by Central/ State Government PSUs/ Public Limited Companies, Passbook with photographs issued by the Bank/ post office, PAN card, Smart Card issued under the scheme of Labour, MNREGA job card, Health insurance smart issued under the scheme of M/o Labour , pension documents with photographs, officials identity cards issued to MPS/ MLAs/MLLS and Aadhar Card.
. The DEO South Goa, Ajit Roy, said that the district, doesn’t have any sensitive polling stations but has 7 vulnerable and 21 critical polling stations. The polling stations, which have been voting over 75% to a single candidate for the last  elections have been declared as critical polling stations and will be paid special attention to.
. The Election Commissioner of India (ECI) has appointed seven General  Observers, three Expenditure Observers and one Police Observers for two Parliamentary Constituencies- North and South Goa and three Bye Elections- Mandrem, Shiroda and Mapusa
. For North Goa,  Manisha Trighatia, IAS has been appointed as General Observer for Mandrem, Pernem, Bicholim, Tivim, Mapusa, Siolim, Saligao, Calangute, Porvorim, and Aldona. Sudipta Chatterjee, IAS, has been appointed as for Panaji, Taleigao, Santa Cruz, St Andre, Cumbarjua, Maem, Sanquelim, Poriem, Valpoi and Priol
. The General Observers for South Goa are Indra Mallo, IAS, who will deal with Ponda, Shiroda, Marcaim, Mormugao, Vasco- Da – Gama, Dabolim, Cortalim, Nuvem, Curtorim and Fatorda Parliamentary Constituency and Monalisa Goswami, IAS has been appointed as General Observer for Margao, Benaulim, Navelim, Cuncolim, Velim, Quepem, Curchorem, Sanvordem, Sanguem and Canacona
. The General Observer for b-poll for Mandrem is Ruby Borah, Jineviva Kindo, IAS is for Mapusa 
. Aprajita Sharrma, IP & TAFS has been appointed as Expenditure Observer for all Assembly Segments for South Goa; Naina Soin Kapil, IRS and Ila M. Parmar are appointed as Expenditure observer for North Goa
. Naveen Singla, IPS has been appointed as Police Observer for all Assembly Segments
. The observers on Thursday reached Goa and will hold series of meetings with political parties and their candidates and general public
