MARGAO: Sixteen nomination papers for Margao Municipal Council (MMC) elections were rejected today and now 115 candidates are in the fray for the 25 wards, disclosed Deputy Collector Jyoti Kumari. She revealed that second nomination papers filed by candidates whose first set is already approved were rejected.
She said the highest number of candidates is in ward 24 where 10 candidates are in the fray and ward 9 on its heels with 9 candidates followed by ward 1 and 15 where seven candidates are contesting.
