A 12-year-old girl drowned, after she accidentally fell in the well at Uccassaim on Wednesday morning.
According to Mapusa Police, Rukma Pal from Uccassaim had gone to the well nearby to her house for washing the clothes. However, while drawing water from the unprotected (ground level) well, she lost balance and fell into the well.
Since the girl did not return home, her parents started searching her. However, after two hours, the residents noticed her body floating in the well. The residents immediately informed the Mapusa Police and fire station.
The fire brigade officials rushed to the site and fished out the body. Police conducted the panchanama and sent the body to GMC Hospital.
at Bambolim for post mortem. Police Sub Inspector Chandrakant Gawas is investigating the case.
