13 died in road accidents in Aug

PANJIM: The Directorate of Transport has compiled a monthly report of the number of accidents that occurred and the number of challans issued in August 2019.
As per the report, the numbers of road deaths increased slightly in the month of August, with 259 road accidents taking place in the State.
Thirteen persons died from the 259 accidents. While three died in north Goa, 10 persons lost their lives in the South. Four riders, four drivers and five pedestrians were among the casualties.
Eight serious accidents occurred in the State with three in North and 5 in South Goa. There were 59 minor accidents   18 in North Goa and 41 in South Goa. Around 179 accidents with no injuries were recorded with 99 in north Goa and 80 in South Goa.
In August around 16 people were critically injured (Four in North and 12 in South Goa). Eighty-two persons suffered minor injuries. Of these, 27 persons were from North and 55 from South Goa.
The Directorate of Transport issued around 2,283 challans in August.
