MARGAO: A minor girl, aged 14, from Margao, committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence on Tuesday.
Police found a note suspected to be written by the Std IX student. It is addressed to the parents informing them about her decision.
Margao police sources informed that they received a phone call at 8.20 pm on Tuesday that a girl had committed suicide. Police had to break open the door to enter the room. The father of the girl, who is a labourer, was at work at the time of the incident, while her mother had gone to a relative’s place.
The father who came home in the afternoon found the main door locked and presumed that her daughter must be sleeping and went back to work. On his return in the evening, he found that there was no answer when he knocked the door. He then climbed on the roof and peeped inside only to find his daughter hanging. Police have filed a case of unnatural death.
